One Of The Best Action Movie

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Sep 9, 2002 | 1 out of 1 found this Die Hard (1988) review helpful

Die Hard is one of the most exciting action movie among T2 and Raiders Of The Lost Ark. The part when John McClane jumped off the exploding building was one of the most thrilling action sequence in films. It deserved all the Oscar nominations it got.... Excellent! Read more Less

Pros: Great Action, Stunts, Sound, and Direction

    Cons: none at all

'Die Hard' is the first of the best cop/secret agent/navy SEALs action films. Bruce Willis is fantastic! The action is, to this day, bloody, and unbelievable! (in a good way). What makes the movie better than everything else, is that John Mcc...lane is just an average joe. He doesn't want to save the day, but he's forced to do just that. Mcclane isn't a green beret, or a secret agent, or a navy SEAL, and that enables all of us to relate to him. His marriage is on the rocks, he doesn't get to see his kids very much, and now terrorists are holding his wife and coworkers hostage! What's a guy to do? Bruce Willis plays the character down to earth and believable. There is some brief, though welcome, comedic one-liners, and then the action ramps up again. This movie has withstood the test of time, and is still better than 90% of the action films put out today. Go out and buy or rent this one today! Read more Less

Die Hard is one of the coolest action movies around. My favorite part is where Bruce Willis jumps off the roof and the whole roof explodes, He then shoots his gun and crashes through the window.

The Best Pure Action Film Ever!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 5, 2000

While "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "Terminator 2" may be better action films, these two great films rely heavily on the viewer believing in the fantasies they create. Die Hard on the other hand is best reality-based action film ever. It is also the... last great action film that didn't rely on computer effects. Great acting, writing, directing, and stunts made this the piece of art it is. Read more Less

    Bruce Willis at his best

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 16, 1999

Made in 1988, this is Bruce Willis at his very best. Willis has made a string of very poor films, but this is what anaction movie is all about. Co-starring Alan Rickman, the setting is the Nakatomi Corporation tower in downtown Los Angeles. John McC...lane (Willis) arrives from New York to patch things up with his wife, who moved to L.A. six months earlier, and is now a high ranking employee. It is Christmas eve, and a party is in full flow when Hans Grueber (Rickman) takes over the building, with the intention of taking $600 million from the vault on the 29th floor. The operation is running like clockwork, but the bad guys didn't bank on Willis being there!! Slickly directed and shot, this is non-stop from the word "go". A must see for all action fans.
