The AVR-2805 is Denon's addition of versatile A/V Receivers, which incorporate all current surround formats and enhanced installation flexibility, all with great simplicity of setup and operation.

AVR-2805 features latest generation 32bit floating point DSP to decode all current surround formats, 96kHz signals and also processing room equalization. This DSP's processing power allows even the analogue input signals in all surround modes to be handled at 96kHz, which undoubtedly assures never-before-experienced high quality.

The AVR-2805 is equipped with an Auto Setup and Room Equalization function, to achieve the most ideal sound field for your room. With the accompanying microphone placed at your listening position, the powerful new 32bit floating point DSP automatically and accurately analyzes, adjusts and sets the speaker configurations of your system. Also, the AVR-2805 analyzes and adjusts the frequency response of the speakers to the room with an 8 band parametric equalizer. The microphone (DM-S305) is especially designed, high performance unit with a heavy duty base to suppress vibrations for accurate analyzing.

    Pros: Easy speaker setup--Microphone Included

    Cons: None for the PRICE!!

    Four years ago, I spent $1500.00 on a Sony ES 90. It recently just went out and when I had to replace or repair it, they didnt even make the main board anymore. So I started doing some research and shopping and came up with the Denon AVR-2805 Rec...eiver. I spent $665.00 on this unit, under half of my old Sony top of the line receiver. To my amasement, this Denon absolutley blew away the Sony. HANDS DOWN. This receiver is user-friendly and the speaker setup is truly worth the money alone. Included is a Microphone that placed where you sit, goes through a 9 step process that analyses your speakers and placement and sets your ranges for you. For the money, you cant go wrong here.     At a list of $899, and getting one for $629, this receiver is the best value I have ever found. My dvd's sounded crisp, with great location of all sound effects spread through out the field. Dynamics are fanastic. My 2 channel CDs had a transpare...nt quality, and my SACD Bach Tocca and Fugue sound much like the church organs should. A great choice for anyone looking for an affordable 7.1. Only flaw would be it not being THX rated, but that didn't stop me. Read more Less
