It was just what I wanted!

This receiver is cool.I was dreading upgrading to Dolby Digital just because I have an upscale Onkyo which worked perfectly except it was pre-digital.I find it difficult to replace a working article. This receiver made it easier when you consider its ...price, power and value. I really really like it. It has great sound. It has lots of inputs and most importantly, for an old fuddy duddy like me, it has a phono input. I was considering another Onkyo, but to get the phono input you have to get the 700 series, which is about twice the cost. There was a Yamaha which was somewhat competitive, but just didnt match up. Harmon Karden (spelling?) doesnt even offer phono on its AV sets anymore! The remote is great (apparently Denon has had difficulty in the past making them user friendly). The initial setup is a bit difficult when you have to assign the inputs (to a techno expert I am sure it is easy); I dont think the manual is as good as it could be.I really like this unit.Pros:PowerInputs/
outputs (especially phono)ValueCons:SetupThe owners manualConclusion:I dont see how anyone wouldnt love this unit.Purchased from Legacy Audio$389.92...also recommended
