Founded by vocalist/bassist Karen Kanan Corrêa and drummer Sivan Harlap both former members of the Hissyfits the New York City trio Demander traffics in the same indie rock circles as SleaterKinney and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Accompanied by guitarist Jared Scott, the coed lineup first assembled in 2004 and released a 5song EP the following year.
