    Very different, and very good

By Jabbar  Sep 18, 2003 | 8 out of 9 found this Deliverance review helpful

The only Bubba Sparxx I heard previously was his song "Ugly" and I don't even remember how it sounded, but I think I liked it. Needless to say, I'm not a huge Bubba Sparxx fan.I saw the video for Deliverance on BET and I thought th...at was an amazing song! It was so good, that I went out and bought the CD the day it dropped just for that song alone. The music is very different than what you're gonna here on other hip-hop albums and I like that. There's a lot of fiddle and harmonica in the beats and I must admit it sounds cool as hell! The song "Comin' Round" which samples some old hillbilly song for the hook is my favorite song off of the album by far. I also like his lyrics. He's not all about money, cars, and hoes. His song "She Tried" is a refreshing change in hip hop songs about women. It's not too often you hear a hip hop artist rap about how he blew it with the perfect girl instead of rapping about how many women he can nail. There are a couple of songs that are only OK, but for the most part, the album bangs! If you're looking for something different on the hip hop scene, then this is probably the album for you. Nice But Too Much Harmonica's

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Sep 20, 2003 | 2 out of 2 found this Deliverance review helpful

I like the album but the harmonica is used too much on here. He's a decent rapper/lyricist but he never changes his flow up I think he changed it up one time on the whole album. Well I think he raps better than Noreaga and 50 Cent though. My favo...rite song are "Nowhere", "Deliverance", "Take A Load Off", "My Tone", and "New South". Since I am a fan of true instrumentaion I did like the horns and snare claps through out the album. Timberland produced the best songs on here. This album is worth checking out. Read more Less

Bubba is tight, for a minute I thought that he fell off. Honestly, I feel that he needs to get with a lable that is going to actually publicise his album. I don't live in a big city, but that shouldn't even matter, our black stations don...9;t even know that Bubba is back, and that's a damn shame. Read more Less

A great sophomore album. Great lyrics, not the usual cash, bling, hoes theme. He stays true to self. And with Timbaland behind the music he can't go wrong. Hope so hear alot more from the New South.

Been patiently waiting for this sophmore album. Well worth the wait as I do like this one more than Dark Days, Bright Nights. The musical quality and also lyrical quality is much improved. Can't wait for a third.

    B-U-B-B-A..... Simply Said

    By Chris  Oct 16, 2003

Pros: Bubba's one-of-a-kind New South Stlye mixes with the production talents of the likes of Beat-Mix-Master Timbaland for an absolute must have edition to any collection! get it . got it? if ya don't ya busted!

    Cons: There wasn't anymore!!!

Bubba Sparxx Is Back off the first C.D. with a Vengance! Respect is DUE!! This Album Showcases A wide array of musical talent.Period. The riveting lyrics paint a picture that not everyone likes to see nor likes to deal with yet I think the Honesty of... this Self-Potrait should be and must be appreciated in an industry blinded by vanity and dominated by over-exagerrated B.S.! This Album is what it seems.. An artists expression of self, integrity to his own character, and most of all REAL LIFE. I think we could do ourselves a favor and reflect on what is and not what was!I hope you'll enjoy this album as much as I have. Listen to more than the beats, you might really be suprised. By david c  Oct 6, 2003

    Pros: timbland beats

Cons: weak lyricist who shoulnt have a record deal

This abulm is just like the first abulm-garbage! im dissapointed in timbaland i thought he was a good judge of talent, most of his artists are talentd but bubba is just not a great storyteller or rhymer. The are other abulms out there that are worth ...the money-obie trice, gang starr, dmx, and the neptunes, don't wate it on buuba, borrow it from somebody, timblands beats don't match bubba's style also, i heard bubba sparxx is signing with the dungeoun family, so maybe some new producers that fit his weak lyrics will help.
