It's official, there is no more new 2pac music. Every real fan has either heard it underground or from the albums he's released. It's one thing to turn his unreleased material into an album, but another to take his hit songs and mix in crappy beats. This album is a disgrace to 2Pac.

| EXPERT RATING: From AMG Reviews Poor 2Pac. Since his unfortunate passing away in 1996, his catalog was pillaged annually. Every holiday season brought with it another posthumous release, often courtesy of Suge Knight or 2Pac's own mama, Afeni Shakur. Sure, it was fascinating to hear all the unreleased recordings the rapper left behind as his legacy; however, these posthumous releases were also disappointing when you considered what could have been. Suge and Afeni were good at marketing 2Pac's posthumous catalog, no doubt, but they certainly weren't Dr. Dre -- put frankly, they were terrible music-makers, marring otherwise brilliant vocal tracks with third-rate production. As a result, none of the numerous posthumous albums even approached the quality of those 2Pac made while alive, not even by a long shot. These posthumous productions actually did 2Pac's legacy a disservice, muddling his once solid catalog with an abundance of crap. This unfortunate reality became all the more apparent with the release of Nu-Mixx Klazzics, surely the most frivolous posthumous release to date. Here Suge and his Row Hitters (aka tha Row Hitters, as in Tha Row, formerly known as Death Row) remix ten previously released 2Pac songs, most of which are culled from All Eyez on Me. While this is a fantastic idea, it's -- surprise, surprise -- fumbled here as these "nu-mixxes" are downright dreadful. The vocals of canonical songs like "How Do You Want It" and "Ambitionz az a Ridah" are pasted, as is, over B-grade beats. In fact, make that C-grade -- these aren't even beats, let alone hip-hop productions; tha Row Hitters sound more like a middle-of-the-road smooth jazz band with a drum machine than gangsta rap producers. Even the harder-hitting tracks like "Hail Mary" and "Hit 'Em Up" sound feeble. It's quite startling, really, how ruinous these remixes are. Fans should protest. They really should. What Suge has done, year after year, with 2Pac's catalog is unforgivable, especially when you consider how exciting the myriad unauthorized bootleg recordings and remixes sound in comparison. Take the incredibly popular Red Spyda-produced 50 Cent mixtape collabo "The Realest Killas" as a standout instance of what could have been. Bedroom beatmakers tweaking tenth-generation MP3s and distributing them over file-sharing networks have more to offer 2Pac's legacy -- in terms of positive contributions, that is -- than Suge's profiteering blasphemy. Let the revolution begin, for real. Death to Tha Row - Jason Birchmeier, All Music Guide |

Pros: 2pac
Cons: Tha Row
Is this a Ludacris album? it should be because believe me this album is DISTURBING THE PEACE. tha beats put a horrible twist on his lyrics someone should shoot Vegas for his work on 2 of amerikas most wanted. The beat was rookie production Crooked I has proven to be a great mc freestyle after freestyle but the verses he dropped on this should of been worked on alot more definetly not his best. Life goes on was a decent remix something you could lay back and smoke a blun..imean... cigar too. hit em up was horrible compared to the original any track on here could not be compared to any original. Tha Row and Afeni know that a 2pac album is a guaranteed platinum plaque, spend some money on the production I'm sure there's enough to spare for ya neck pieces and ice as well as your spinnaz. A sad day in 2pac's legacy happened with the release of this album. ...
