User Reviews: Dead of Night (1945)
Good, but not as good as I expected.
I'm a great fan of old black and white mysteries/literate horror stories. Previous reviews led me to believe this was one of the best. It is well done and an interesting story, but it is not "chilling" as far as I am concerned. I do believe this movie originated many plot lines used by subsequent movie makers and that may be why it has less impact. The ideas have been copied a lot and done quite well at times.
