Dead Silence
, July 15, 2002Reviewer: sewagner - See all sewagner's reviewsSomewhere within the elements of this film is a good movie. The problem is that it certainly wasn't apparent to this viewer. A talented cast was brought together only to be let down by a director and/or screenwriter that wouldn't let logic and a tight, polished, script get in the way of completing this film...they decided to go without. The movie has a very good premise, and some nice twists to help sew the story together. The acting was good given they were working with a mediocre script. I thought the dialog was often unbelievable. The story also did not follow a logical path. We often see what we feel are little logical mistakes in movies, however, this film is filled with them. A better score would help carry this film, as well as a tighter script with believable dialog, and the director needed to ask himself "Would this really happen this way?" Technial advisors are all over the place, but none to be found here. Given the past successes of the Producer and Screenwriter I am surprised at this film. I have seen many worse films, and this is not even close to the bottom on my list, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone for purchase. I gave it 2 stars for the quality of the cinematography, which was very good, and the admirable performaces of the cast given what they had to work with. ...
