    Pros: Robin Williams.

Cons: Because of some language I can't play it at my school.

Robin Williams is a pure genius. Watch this movie and think. Watch it and it makes you think some more. Maybe my teacher bias-but not really. Williams is one of the best actors we are privileged to see in our lifetime.

    Great Depiction of Human Emotions

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Feb 21, 2003

A great movie, only movie I've ever seen that actually depicts acurate human emotions and it isn't one of those stupid and unrealistic movies where everything goes right. It also brings out Robin Williams' full potential as a serious actor. But the whole cast was good not just Robin Williams. This is a sad movie however, but still one of the greats.

One of the best school genre movies

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 8, 2002 | 1 out of 1 found this Dead Poets Society (1989) review helpful

Who wouldn't want a teacher like Robin Williams? Entertaining as usual, Williams teaches at an all-boys school, dealing with the problems of youth that run the gamut from lack of confidence to things of a more serious nature. We learn that life is a struggle for some, as one of the lads takes his own life while another one, portrayed by Ethan Hawke in his breakout role, begins to flourish. The message we eventually learn....I won't say - see this one for yourself and enjoy.

    Teacher of the Year

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jun 18, 2002

Slice of reality from the PAST - politically correct left N.O.W. oppress and suppress. Longer would have been better. Student suicide was unnecessary. Williams shines amid a strong supporting cast.

    A GENUINE CLASSIC!!!!!!!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 17, 2001

There are few movies that can capture the poetic nature of this movie. Robin Williams gives his best performance in this college tale about friends and understanding. I found this movie to be highly inspirational and without a doubt one of my all time favorites. "O Captain, My Captain!"

    Breathless!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 23, 2000

Dead Poets Society is an amazing movie. It truely captures the theory of taking your life and making it what you want it to be. Life is short and one has to live as if it is the last day. Carpe Diem is something that everyone should say to themselves everyday because remember, we are living on borrowed time. Seize the day!

    Great!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jun 14, 2000

This was a great film and it really goes out to those parents who think that teenage suicide could never happen to their children and that they need to help them persue their dreams not shatter them. Robert Sean Leonard and Robin Williams did an excellent job in this film. Great to watch for anything.

Every character in this film seems to be a part of me, how I think, and how I am, and how I want to change myself as they did with themselves! Every time I watch this movie I want to read from the greats, relish in understanding, and flourish.
