Back in 66', actually it was spring of 66', I first dropped a phonograph needle onto this record. Daydream was already flying high on the charts, really, one of the most unique sounds at that time when Motown, sugar pop and english rock ruled. This ...song was able to literally CREATE a smile on ones face. Acoustic guitar, harmonica and honky tonk piano...ON TOP 40 AM RADIO!!!!!! Well, anyway you had to have been there. ...So, if you buy this album (and its worth it just for the 5 songs that I have mentioned here)listen carefully to the guitar licks on "Its Not Time Now"...really sweet. Then listen carefully to the most amazing folk rock ballad the spoonful ever did.."Butchies Tune" , top drawer song. Other good stuff on the album include the great (but now over played) "Jug Band Music", the hilarious "Bald Headed Lena" (Zal Yanovsky at his best) and of course the GREAT and MELODIC WONDER SONG "You Didnt Have To Be So Nice"....absolutly amazing how they came up with that song, just amazing. ....Its 34 years later and my hat is still off to those four guys who called themselves the Lovin Spoonful back in glorious 65', 66' and 67'. Classic listening for all of us who belong to the, now 3, Rock & Roll Generations. Read more Less
