In the crowded field of young, good-looking country singers, add Davis Daniel's name to the list of new hopefuls. He debuts here with a solid ten-song outing chock-full of radio-ready country-lite tunes, any one of which could easily fit a "young country" station's play list. With top-notch writing contributions from Paul Overstreet ("She Could Make a Freight Train Take a Dirt Road"), George McCorkle ("William and Mary"), and Mark Sherrill ("Somebody's Gonna Lose"), there's certainly no shortage of well-crafted Nashville ready-mades aboard, and the session playing is equally modern country, assembly-line perfect. Daniel, for his part, contributes two fine songwriting efforts, "Out Here Sits the King" and "Tyler," and while his looks outweigh the relative thinness of his voice, there's enough good stuff here to make you think that he might develop into something more than a one-shot artist.
