Synopsis: Darkman (1990)

Synopis: Dr. Peyton Westlake is on the verge of realizing a major breakthrough in synthetic skin when a gang led by sadistic crime boss Robert G. Durant obliterates his laboratory and leaves Westlake beaten, mutilated and left for dead. An experimental medical procedure saves his life, but Westlake is both physically and psychologically scarred by the event, unable to continue a normal life with his girlfriend. Westlake's only salvation, and his all-consuming purpose in life, becomes the successful pursuit of the synthetic skin formula. To finance his experiments, he takes on a shadowy, enigmatic identity--Darkman, a phantom figure who terrorizes and steals from criminals in the night. But it is only a matter of time before he eventually crosses paths with Durant, the one responsible for his suffering.

   Not everyone may agree, but I consider this movie a classic. I've seen it tons of times and can never get enough of its perfect "comic book" feel. A little bit of the Crow, a little bit of the Shadow, and even a little bit of Evil Dead mix together in a tasty soup of angst, action, and dark comedy. Check it out! ...

   Am I alone, here, Liam Neeson looses his face and most of his skin from chemical burns, and because of his loss of feeling, when angry, becomes a man with superhuman strength. Don't you think that is also an orginal theme Mr. Banner (hee, hee)?. The first movie I actually apoligized to my wife for taking her to see. Great Actors, Great Effects, Terrible Plot, Terrible Acting, and a waste of the 3.50 I spent on the matinee. If you enjoy cult classics, see anything from Ed Wood or George A. Romero, or from Irwin Allen, but it you must, see this late night on TBS!!! ...
