Pros: engaging

Cons: got silly towards the end

This set of books follows Roland, the world's last gunslinger, and his ka-tet on their journey to the crumbling Dark Tower, which serves as the force holding together the fabric of reality. They encounter many adventures and trials along the way,... among them including an insane intelligent suicidal train named Blaine with a passion for riddles, and we hear a personal love story from the normally stoic Roland. I reviewed each of these individually, but they disappeared.... Anyway, these are absolutely fantastic books. King can flesh out a characters like nobody's business and the Dark Tower is endlessly entertaining. One of the best series you can indulge yourself in. It's a 7-parter, but these first four are superior to the last three, which are good too but downright silly at times. Highly recommended to anyone. 9/10 Read more Less
