Pros: Good "feel", well constructed, great extras
Cons: Unresolved ending as a result of series cancellation
While, perhaps, not quite as good as the first season, I found the second season of Dark Angel to be an excellent effort. Of particular interest was the episode entitled "Brain", which has always been my favorite. The second season further explored the many variations produced by Manticore and began the "Breeding Cult" story line. A wider array of characters and further character development of those characters carrying over from season one gives the second season a "fuller" feel. The extra features on the final disc offered excellent insight into how many of the effects were pulled off. The commentary accompanying some of the episodes was also very helpful. The only disappointment in the second season lies in the fact that the series was cancelled, leaving so many questions unresolved. I believe that, all in all, the series was something of a groundbreaker that was finding its way. Had the network been kinder in its treatment of the series, I believe it would still be running today. ...
