MJ's music really went downhill with this unnecessary gimiky album...He hired Janet's best pals Tedddy Riley Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, adopted a wimpy effeminate image, sang saccharine mawkish songs like "Heal the world" & "Gone too soon"...and the le...ss said about the nose job(s) & skin debate the better. MJ trys to be hip & "street" with Dangerous ("Why you wanna trip on me?") with rappers & New Jack Swing but as the old saying goes: "Just be yourself". There are however a couple of nice tracks like "Remember The Time", "Who is it?" and "Black or white" although lyrically facile is quite fun.Each decade MJ seems to jump on fashionable bandwaggons: Soul, Disco, Synth-pop but thankfuly he actually took those genre's further but sadly, not this time.Alas, virtually all MJ's post-Bad music sounds like this album which is SUCH a shame.3 Stars Read more Less

As I recall this album was a huge disappointment in spite of it's huge (advanced?) sales.The first two tracks sound the same, the last (title) track also has the same beat.MJ stoped being inventive with this album he just followed popular trends eg o...rchestra/philly hits, beat boxing & rap cameos...he virtually stopped singing on several songs and resorted to speaking, whispering, shouting, hiccups, crys, yelps etc & I really hate the "Adlib & chorus to fade" used toward the end of many songs.This album has too much emphasis on percussion and not enough on singing/musical variety. To this day MJ still enjoys this love-affair with streetwise Teddy Riley...shuch a shame. Read more Less

The line-up is simply killer, the innovation on Teddy Riley´s touch giving that magic to the production of this album, and Michael Jackson giving the best of himself. Michael hadn't been able to top Thriller. While Bad was an excellent album, it faild to live up to Thriller's standards (The critics words, not mine) and people were starting to stranges feelings about Michael because of the crazy stories tha...t were published about him. Because of that Dangerous, just like Bad did, was an album that sold well but didn't get the hype Thriller did. This was around the time I was about 8 or 9 when this came out so I can appreciate this album more than Thriller (I have Thriller and it's damn good, by the way). With this album, Quincy Jones got the boot from the producers chair and Michael recrutied Teddy Riley to try to update The King Of Pop's sound. For the most part, it worked. Remember the Time is the most notable song from this CD. Black or White, Jam, and Heal The World had some good runs to. Those songs aren't the Highlights (my opinion). Get it for the "filler" tracks (With the exception of Give Into Me). Michael, you did good with this one. Read more Less

Dangerous is a great album that takes advantage of the use of Teddy Riley and his new jack sounds. In da Closet, She Drives Me Wild, Remember da Time, Who Is It, Give in to Me, Black or White and Will You Be There are on top of da game. The album exp...lores Mike's sexual nature more wit In da Closet, Remember da Time, Who is it and Give in to Me. Why U Wanna Trip on me, Can't Let Her Get Away and da title song Dangerous have tight sounds but suffer from repeative lyrics. Dangerous was such a massive hit that it was still releasing singles well into 1993. Read more Less

The best Album ever created

Cons: So good that it's sickening.

As much as i love thriller and bad, dangerous has to be my favorite album ever. I never get tired of listening to it. Sometime i listen to the fast pace songs when i want to dance. Then i listen to the slower ones near the end when i want to relax. I... Think this is the greatest album ever hands down, no question about it. I plan to buy 2 and 3 copies in the future if one breaks ill buy another one and so on and so on. Read more Less
