Dishwasher Leaks TERRIBLY After a Few Months

Pros: Worked well for a few months

Cons: Poor quality.. will break within a year.

Was happy with this counter top D/W for a few months, but the appliance developed a really bad leak from underneath the unit which is impossible to reach because of the way the item is manufactured. Unfortunately this will be going in the garbage and so will my $250+.

Cons: PLENTY

In 2004, I got the DDW396W countertop dishwasher. It worked wonderfully, it cleaned dishes well, I didn't have to prewash them, etc. It was great. In 05/2007, the seal on the door window broke. I tried to order the part, but was told I had to order the entire door assembly. That part stayed on backorder until Dec 2007. After several follow-up calls, Danby replaced the entire unit w/ the current version DDW496W. THIS UNIT IS A PIECE OF JUNK. It does not clean as well. I can tell that the force of the water is not as strong, and it only has one "cup" for detergent. The prior model had 2. Additionally, after the entire cylce, I open the unit, and the dishes are cold and still wet. There isn't enough heat to dry the dishes. Ironically, the unit's design--w/ window in door--is the same; that same seal will break, too; rendering the unit useless. Why re-design a newer version w/ the same problem? Bottom line: already said--PIECE OF JUNK. Shop around before selecting this unit. Finally, Danby's customer service is as bad as its DDW496W. When I called the 800 # to order the part for the original unit, I waited in a long cue on every occasion. When I emailed my thoughts on my new unit, all I got back was a canned response. I've already mentioned how long the original part was on backorder.

Pros: It will clean your dishes

Cons: It will eventually breakdown

I love to cook and I hate to do dishes. It was cheap so I bought one at WalMart and it surprised me how well it worked. After about 6 months it started to crack in the front door. That was two months ago and it still works like a charm. I know I will have to replace it in a few months, and you know what? I'll buy the exact same machine. $249 to have someone else wash my dishes for a year is money well spent!

Leaks like a sieve after 10 months

Cons: when it breaks - you might as well replace

When I first got it I couldn't believe why so many people gave it bad reviews. It has multiple cycles, a place to put jet dry, it fits on my counter (I have a very small studio apartment, and I had no room for a regular portable dishwasher)

Dishes came out clean, the sani-boost was great for getting the dishes nice and clean (and sanitized).

Then - after about 6 months it started leaking. Not bad at first - I just shoved a towel under the leaky corner when I was running the unit. But now, after 10 months of use it's leaking so bad that my counter floods when I use it. I have to replace it. I just wish Danby would make this better, I would love to have another one, but one that worked. I would gladly pay more to get one that worked - sigh.

If you decide to get one, just keep in mind - you're more than likely going to have to
replace this unit on at least an annual basis.

Pros: Works in Small places.

Cons: Needs a cutlery rack for long knives.

I have had my dishwasher for a couple of months now and it works extremely well. I do not have any complaints about this machine. But I do wish there were a basket for long knives and other items that are to big for the small basket. Other than that I would recommend it to anyone on a tight buget and small living space. Especially if you hate doing dishes. I have more important things to do other than stand at the sink and do dishes.

Pros: value verrrry cheap

Cons: very weak dishwasher, very fragile in transportation

I am at third Danby countertop dishwasher.
My life is ruined. No time for something else only to call the factory to go at repair shop with it.
Finally I do not have any dishwasher after a hard work with customer service. After customer service I got a brand new one. I cannot describe how was looking the box, but how is working the dishwasher is really a disaster. Yes is doing more noise than the one before, which was very noisy. The result of the noise was nothing, no water into the dishwasher
two cycles, at third cycle the water came, and the flooding too.Other one before had a huge crak at the door, it did not hold rinsing agent, which was liking all under the door.
They are very fragile, and I will go by somethingelse if I do not want to get worse with my life.
