      Ultra Compact Dishwasher

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 10, 2005 | 5 out of 5 found this Danby DDW399W Millenium Countertop Dishwasher review helpful

Pros: Size of a large microwave, works good.

Cons: Doesn't hold too many dishes

A friend recommended this to us when were living in a tiny studio apartment and space was at premium. Since neither of us likes to do dishes, we went ahead and got it. We have had this dishwasher for over two years and haven't had a single probl...em with it. Even though we now live in decent-sized house, we still use the Danby. The built-in dishwasher in the house was broken when we moved in, and we haven't bothered to replace it as we don't go through that many dishes and the Danby seems to work fine. It is very small, it took me while to learn how to load it. I can usually get 3 normal-sized dinner plates, 6 or so medium or small plates, a small frying pan, a dozen pieces of silverware, along with a couple of bowls and glasses, per load. It looks like the never model is the Danby DDW396W. Read more Less

      Bad decision

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jul 11, 2008

Pros: Small size, Low water usage.

Cons: Plastic parts. Poor parts availability and service.

This was the first counter top I bought. It lasted just over two years. Replaced door assembly twice due to the window (plastic) breaking and leaking. The rotating spray arm once due to missing bushing and breakage. Final straw was when the drain/was...h pump quit working. Made another bad decision in replacing it with the succeeding model (396). It only lasted a year and a half with the plastic door frame breaking in two places between the hinges and the window. There will not be a third. Should have just bought a conventional portable built by anyone else. It would have been cheaper, better built and lasted longer. Read more Less
