Pros: Compact, lots of features for the $$

Cons: short battery life, limited memory, mediocre quality

I got this for Christmas, and am still playing with it trying to learn all the features, but so far I am impressed. Although the quality of the video is mediocre, there are plenty of features, and still photo quality is what you would expect from a 3....0 megapixel camera. Memory is limited, I think it only has 28mb onboard memory, so you will need to purchase more memory. You can also use this as an MP3 player, but all music must be converted to MP3 format as this will not play .wav or .wmp files. But impressive just the same. You can also use this as a voice recorder. As I said, plenty of features and options for the money, just be sure that you purchase an SD memory card. Read more Less

Pros: 3.0 mb cmos sensor added filters, mp3 bass, treble

Cons: 4aaa 1 hour batt life

the dxg 305V is an excellent starter hybrid comes in great colors 6 black, red, green, blue, camafloge pink, silver cama, and white unknown colors. has effects like saphire, classic b & W. filters negitev, blue red green yello and more. 4aaa batt...eris on a 4.8vdc-6vdc system should last 1 hour, not 3 hours. a smaller power source. mp3 feature is its best thing about the hybrid, seperate bass and treble. takes excellent video with 3 settings per resolution basic, normal and fine these are sharpness controls, at 15 fps it is perfect. the dxg 506V hybrid is the one to grab far better but same battery life 32 mb internal memory is shares for reader/writer the buffer, external sd card must bePurchased 1 gig will get you hours of record time. this Hybrid today runs as low as 66.00 as high as 150.00 the dvg 506v a ( megapixal) hybrid is offered. the software power director is well worth the purchase. a great hand me down and pocket hybrid last note at night that logo is an eye catcher wish it had a bigger screen well built metal ball bearing swival........ Great for beginners

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jun 11, 2006 | 2 out of 2 found this DXG TECHNOLOGY DXG-305V review helpful

Pros: quality is nice, lots of features, user friendly

Cons: low battery life, sound quality mediocre

GREAT product for the price. Video quality is good enough for a $100 camera (smooth and clear). Comes with many accesories and great software. So small, you can take anywhere. Looks great for such a cheap cam. Low batt life and slightly bad sound qua...lity are only downsides. An EXCELLENT beginner camera. Buy it! Read more Less

    Pros: Inexpensive and small.

Cons: Not as easy to use as I'd like.

First off, for the money, this is one of the best purchases I've ever made. Keep that in mind, "for the money". If you look at this camera that way then you'll never be disappointed. It takes a bit too long for the camera to switch ...from 'storing' to 'ready to shoot' again. It doesn't adjust to extreme changes in light very readily either. I paid $85 dollars for the camera and $25 for a 1gig card. I'm happy with the results at that price. It's just a really fun camera / toy! Read more Less

    Pros: Does Everything

    Cons: Does everything very slowly

the speed from when you press the button to when it takes the picture is very long, makeing this almost worthless as camera for most users. but with all the other options with a bad digital camera still make this a really fun toy. but thats all it is..., a toy Read more Less

Pros: Small compact, and nicely built doesn't feel like its gonna break in my hands

Cons: Battery life could be longer but it last longer if you flip the LCD screen down 1 1/2 hour with rechargable energizer batteries

It is an awesome buy for me i use it all the time on fishing trips and hiking trips.

    Barely worth the price

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 9, 2007

Pros: Plenty of features, compact, easy to use

Cons: Atrocious video and picture quality, sucks batteries down

I bought the DXG 5-in-1 camcorder because my friend showed me his and used it to capture footage of our paintball games. He showed me how it flips open to let you see a tiny display and that alone had me hooked. I had to have one. Surprisingly, I fo...und it at WalMart for only about $99 which was surprisingly cheap considering other camcorders go for much more. When I began using it, I immediately realized that I should have waited and paid more attention to my the video quality coming from my friend's. To put it bluntly: The video quality is downright horrible unless you are outside on a bright, sunny day - but even then, range is limited and zooming in only makes things EXTREMELY blurry. There are two choices for the video mode: 30 or 60 frames per second. 30 frames per second allows you to record in 640x480 resolution but the video is choppy and not smooth at all. 60 FPS allows for much smoother video recording but at a steep price: The highest resolution available is piss-poor 320x240. If the quality wasn't so bad to begin with, this might be acceptable - but that's obviously not the case. It's literally impossible to record non-dark videos if you're inside. Even with all of the lights turned on in the house and the brightness on the camera turned all the way up, the video is still EXTREMELY dark. I'm talking so dark it's hard to even tell what's going on. The other features are really just gimmicks due to the low battery life. These include a snapshot mode, MP3 player, sound recorder, and the ability to use it as a webcam. The snapshot mode works like a digital camera but is horrible just like the video mode. The quality is just strange, and turning on flash drains the batteries even faster but doesn't help because the photos still never look quite right. The MP3 player and sound recorder are of good quality but really aren't needed especially with the way this thing drains batteries. Webcam mode needs not mentioning - just like the video mode, the quality is far too dark to be worthy. Overall, the DXG 5-in-1 camcorder is not worth the money. The overall quality of videos and photos is just terrible and even with the extra features, the price still isn't justified. Let's also not forget that this thing drains batteries VERY quickly. Even with rechargeable batteries, it's still a pain in the you-know-what. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Read more Less
