A rapper known for his heavily funktified live backing tracks, DJ Quick first came to prominence in the late '80s when AR man Dave Moss of Profile Records heard one of Quick's demos. Soon after the rapper released his debut album, Quick Is The Name, which went gold and showed his ability to put together live tracks which drew heavily from traditional funk music.
