Lousy support, lousy installation

Cons: Lousy support, other product have much more convenient installation

I bought the DIR 615 last week, hoping to easily set up a wireless network in our home. The installation looked easy in the beginning, following the instructions took me to the point where a connection to my DSL modem would have to happen. Long stor...y short: didn't get it to work. Called the helpdesk. Got through quickly but was connected to someone probably on the other side of the globe. The communication was painful (had to repeat about 50% of the communication). THe guy made me change something manually that did not fix it, then refered me to my DSL provider. I later found out that I should switch back some of the settings. From there on the connectivity to the router was intermittent. However, never got the wireless side to work, finally reached somebody on the helpdesk who seemed to be on this side of the globe, he told me to return the device because it was most likely broken. Luckily, they didn't have that model anymore so I got a Netgear WGT624. It cost $10 more and only supports the G standard, but it is worth it!
