Single computer throughput

Pros: Very easy to setup

Cons: Disaster for ethernet connections, multi-computer environment

Bought DLink DIR625 at Costco for it is 802.11n and suppose to be faster, safer and to give better bandwidth and range coverage.
Setup my first computer then second computer without any incident (the GUI step-by-setp setup was excellent).
When turning on both computers using ethernet connections, only one will get internet connection. Support said DIR-625 monitors throughput according to the modem bandwidth. For crying out loud, I have a cable internet connection, not a dial-up!
Had to unplug it and return to use the old Netgear which is 802.11g. Seems the switching capability for ethernet connections was not tested before shipping.
Wireless connections from more than one computers were fine. Haven't noticed the speed improvement but the range is better than the old one.

Lack of web filter capability

Cons: Doesn't offer web filtering

Overall, the router is very easy to setup. I got in connected and running in few minutes. The unit offers a strange way to filter website. In order to filter certain web sites, I have to enable ACCESS CONTROL, then in the Web Filtering, I must enter all the allowable web sites. Any web site is not on this web filtering page will be blocked. There are million web sites out there, I have to enter them all just to block a few. This is unbelievable feature. Don't understand why Dlink Engineer came up with this idea. NetGear offers blocking by just entering key word...

Pros: Well my family thinks it works good

Cons: the quality of the internet connection seems to be going down hill

I had this idea that this would help seed up the internet connecton. But after a weeks or mouths, the internet connection it would have the internet pages run at a snails pace. Oh and I also had buyed a Rangebooster N Cardbus too. I thought it would make a big differnence, but it did a little bite. Just be careful on what wireless internet products to buy.
