Pros: Features are great if they all worked

Cons: Time defaults to april 2002, and schedule needs help

I really like this router for the price and the advertised features it is a good deal. I am experienced with routers so the install was a snap for me. I have the schedule working via the firewall but it does not drop active connections when scheduled... to do so, in other words my kids can stay connected all night if they never drop their own session. This along with the fact that if you power the router off it will lose the time setting and default to april 2002 which also affects the scheduled filters. If D-Link can fix those two bugs I would recommend this router to anyone. Read more Less

Pros: Inexpensive, Small,

Cons: Somewhat difficult to navigate, limit on url filters, no uplink port

After purchasing my DI-604 several days ago, I took it out of the box and plugged it into my machine. Haveing experience with routers before, I chose to configure the router manually, by passing the wizard. Configuration was easy but the navagation ...could have been improved a little. Within a couple minutes however, my computers were online. While configuring my filtering, I soon noticed the cap on my domain and url filters - 10 of each. This is not nearly adaquate enough. Also, there is no uplink port but this issue can be solved by plugging in a switch to one of the LAN ports. Despite those cons, I must say, this is a very good router. It is small, lightweight, and inexpensive. It has many features such as filtering of IP's, MAC's, Domains, and URLS, NAT Firewall, DMZ support, support for PPPoE or DHCP, virtual sever, logging, cabel testing, packet STATS (sent/recevied WAN or LAN), the ability to iport settings, the ability to create static IP's for each computer on the network, the ability to lock down Network acess for specific computers during certain times, the ability to remotly manage your router or use VPN, and the ability to open and close ports. The router comes with two account settings - Admin and User - The Admin acount has the ability to view and make changes to the router with the appropriate USER NAME and PASS. The User account allows "Users" to view the settings that the administrator has conifgured, but not make any changes. This router provides many features for a low price and is a good choice for the average to advanced home user and small business. Read more Less

This D-Link DI-604 has everything you need for a home or small network. I had it up and working in minutes. I found it extremely easy to change any settings I wanted. It has a firewall and filter that blocks just about every kind of internet attack a...s default, yet you are able to easily configure it as you wish. Please note, just because something is small it price, doesn’t mean it is small in features. I would highly suggest buying this product. Read more Less

You have to go through way too much crap to install this and in the end the original dsl modem wont even work! I would never buy one of these again!

Cons: none

Was looking for an easy router to install and I found it in this. Just follow the instructions and off it goes. What more could you ask for?

Hi Guys, I strongly recomand this product. I had some crap routers and I was sick about them. I hit the net and read the rewievs and picked this one up and BUM! iT WORK JUST ITSELF WITH A LITTLE BIT OF HELP. I have four comp; and it works great with ...them. No need to check something else to buy if you need something like this. Close your eyes and go for it..You won't be dissapointed.;-)) Read more Less

Simple to setup. Works fine with NAT and corporate VPN access. option to disable DHCP is available in which case it can work as a hub as well I guess
