What does the serious black man listen t
Admittedly, this album isn't Silver Side Up. And Nickleback certainly isn't Nirvana or Pearl Jam or Dylan or a dozen other classic bands. But, I'm just curious after reading several listener reviews -- what does the intelligent black man listen to these days. Snoop Dog? You're not serious? I own most rap albums and even find some entertaining. But you are blissfully unaware if you believe that rap represents lasting contemporary music outside of a microscopic element of American society. Moreover, what I find absolutely unbelievable is the willingness of black America to buy into the "image" of the gangsta rapper. Rap is the most commerialized music in current existence and its "artists" sold out long ago. When was the last time that Snoop Dog built a recreation center or donated computers to a school. The average basketball player does more for the black community than any gangsta rapper. Moreover, from what I can tell most "hits" in the rap community are remade disco hits by second-rate white bands.

this could very well be the greatest album of our age. the lyrics are stunning, the vocals are stellar, and the music makes you wanna go jack off.

I agree with you. Nickelback is a great band, maybe the best band in the last 12 years. Every album is solid, not 1 or 2 hits and then just filler crap. With all the awfull Korn clones out these days, it's refreshing to have a solid rock band like Nickelback to listen too. I just bought Curb today, and I was surprised at how good it is. If it would have been released in America the same year it came out in Canada (1996), it would have been a huge hit.

I got Nickelbacks first cd, the one no songs got played off of. That cd is good. Now they just suck, radio is all they are about. Its a shame these days people will go with the style instead of making their own music. Radio kills everyone.

Thank you! Nickelback deserves it's own volume in "what's wrong with today's music." Their unoriginal, uninspired riffs even make Creed sound like Pearl Jam. Not only hav they sold out since their first album, but they're even releasing this album that every record company most likely rejected, with reason. What's next, A remix album featuring P. Diddy and a member of NSync? I also find it hilarious that the person who gave this crap 5 stars called it "classic nickelback". Their first album was 2 years ago, and they've only been around for 5, you massive, massive tool. That's like calling a 1997 Geo Metro a "clasic car"

For being their first album I don't think any fan could complain. Curb is obviously a growing sound. Any real Nickelback fan should enjoy the sound of curb.

I am the one brother who is not in the band and I will bring my vengeance upon these fakes. I wrote all of the songs and just because I'm half retarded, I couldn't be in the band. They will all perish and I will show that the true talent behind Nickelback is a retarded Candian named Nico.

Who is this guy who thought the band name was Curb? Oh well, no harm done. I haven't heard this album...I am surprised I haven't heard anything on the radio. I just want to say Nickelback is WAY, WAY over played on the radio, but I don't listen to the radio much (wait, maybe I shouldn't be surprized I haven't heard it on the radio). Anyway, Nickelback is a great band, but the radio is just a whore.

This new albumn by Curb is supposed to be alot better than their last one. Apparently on this new albumn called Nickelback, they challenged themselves to try something new. Travis became vegetarian goat herder, Chip tried accounting, Horace is wearing lace gloves now, and Tobey is a discount-only shopper. The result of this experimentation is an album that only sounds like the previous one, but feels like something slightly new. Give 'Incubus is really Faith No More' a try...I think you will like it!

There are a total of about two catchy songs on this CD, and zero good ones. I bought this disc, listened to it, and almost puked. If you have bought this CD already, put it to good use and go play some frisbee outdoors.
