    A Look Back At The 70s

    This album is a mixed bag of remakes. Alan Merrill's 70s hits with his band The Arrows, and also his Tokyo based project Vodka Collins are rerecorded here . Also some newer material with a 70s flair is added to keep the flow of this recording consis...tant. The CD was recorded in London, Paris and New York in small studios, with the authentic glam rock rhythm section of drummer Peter Phipps (ex - Gary Glitter group/ The Eurythmics) and bassist Dave Glover (currently with Slade) providing the groove. Also contributing are Sal Bernardi on blues harp with backing vocalists Janice DeRosa, Jackie Kamm, and Jan Tilley.Merrill's decision to go against the tide and record a 70s style album in the millenium was a brave (some would say bizarre) decision, but a good one all the same.Strong songs all across the board, and an album that grows on you with each listen.
