Pros: Easy to clean, yummy ice cream

Cons: Doesn't make a ton of ice cream

We are a family of six, two adults and four small kids, (ages 10,8,5 and 2). For our family this machine is great, as we get older I could see that we would want an additional bowl to make more ice-cream. I could see how this would be fun at a party but the time to make the ice cream for a large crowd would take awhile. We LOVE this machine!! We love the ice cream recipes and have made up a few of our own. I read one review that said you could use the freezer bowl twice to make ice-cream. When we tried this it didn't work out for us, so if you're making ice cream for a large crowd, be sure to have two frozen bowls ready to go for the mix. We love it!! Clean up is a breeze. We liked when the ice cream mixed for at least 30-40 minutes. This could be because our mixing bowl is only stored in a regular freezer, maybe a deep freeze would get the bowl colder for mixing. Other than that we can't say enough!

Pros: none

Cons: lot of work for nothing

what the box does not tell you is you have
to freeze the inner bowl for 24 hrs before you can use, then you have to use
up what you make before the bowl gets warm
when everything becomes a runny mess
the mix does not stay cold, used once and it sits in the box, you can have mine!

Pros: Many different kinds of ice cream to make in your home

Cons: Doesn't make enough servings

Great tool to have in the kitchen. I've made several kinds of ice cream and yogurt. I have a family of 5. They love to use it, but it just doesn' make enough. To have plenty, you need to purchase a 2nd mixing bowl.

Pros: inexpensive

Cons: texture not the same as commercial soft serve

We had fun playing with this unit Christmas 06. Made some good tasiting frozen yogurt. Although this unit never seemed to get the ice cream firm enough to pile up on a cone. But At only $100, it was a good price for this unit. Dont expect to get the commercial grade soft serve you get at nation wide chains. You need a unit that has freezing capability for that. This unit has a drum which must be placed in freezer for 24 hours prior to making ice cream. Making ice cream will not be a last minute decision with this technology. You must have the drum in freezer at least one day in advance of making ice cream. Of course machines that have their own freezing units are much more expesnive. I have seen table top units that range from $600 on up. Im not saying dont get it. Just know that at $100, your are not going to get the commercial grade soft serve.

I scream for ice cream.

Pros: It makes whipping cream icy.

Cons: The gadgets don't work right.

I wish we had bought an ice cream maker without the "soft serve" addition. We can't seem to get the consistency just right to allow us to dispense the ice cream and sprinkles into a cone.
