Pros: good concept
Cons: leaks
The leaking drives me nuts. It's not just alittle water leaking from it. It can be a pool of water under the unit and all over.
Pros: Style, brews a good cup of java
Cons: Warming temp too high
Have had my Cuisinart fo 2 years, working perfectly, no leaks. The container may be somewhat harder to clean but since it is plastic you don't have to worry about breaking a carafe. Would have liked the ability to adjust the warming temp. Coffee can turn bitter if held too long, however this is true of most coffee makers. If you remove the grate under the spigot (it comes out and goes back easily) travel mugs are no problem.
Pros: Fast brewing time.
Cons: None
Coffee comes out consistant every time and stays hot for the full 2 hours it stays on! Super easy to clean up and no pot to break!
Pros: Ease of use
Cons: Pouring in water
This coffe maker do not leak, but if you miss the hole for the water even slightly, it does seem to be leaking , but its' just over flow. It is so easy to make a good cup of coffee and it stays hot for two hours, and warns you with a beep beep when shuting off. Cup height can be a problem, but I just remove the cup grate for a taller cup. I have had this coffee maker for two years and love it. If need be I will buy one just like it again.
Pros: coffee doesn't burn
Cons: appliance won't last
I bought this coffee maker and loved it. No burnt coffee taste from a heating plate that was too hot, and I liked not having to wash a pot and possibly break it. But the machine broke in less than 2 years. Cuisinart told me they had found that this product needs to be rinsed with vinegar water quite often, and to try that. So I unplugged it (to let the inerds reset), did the soak and rinse and it came back to life, only to die again never to return in another month or two. A neighbor down the street had the same problem. Wouldn't recommend this machine.
Pros: makes great coffee
Cons: leaks, not tall enough for travel mug, hard to see when cup is full
Like most everyone else, my first one leaked a lot of water and only lasted about a year. I'm on #2, so far so good! This one doesn't leak "as much" as the first one.
As far as the travel mugs are concerned, if you remove the tray on the bottom it fits perfectly, other than not being able to see when the cup is full, a light when you depress the dispenser (like on the fridge) would have been nice.
Pros: Good coffee, easy to clean, all in one, no breakage
Cons: Slight water leak sometimes
Really like the coffee maker, easy to use. I have had it for about a year to make coffee on the weekends. Sometimes the water leaks a little and have never figured out why and where.
Pros: Nice looking
Cons: leaks and broke
I was so excited when I bought this coffee maker. It looks great on my granite counters and love not having to clean the glass pot everyday. But after a few months I experienced leaking from the bottom of the machine. I would make the coffee and come back to 6 cups of hot coffee running all over my counter, down my cabinets and onto the floor. A complete mess. That happens a half a dozen times over the course of the next year and about a month ago I started getting grounds in my coffee. 2 weeks ago it just decided not to work at all. It would not turn on, even tried another outlet. No such luck. I had enogh and I think it was a blessing in disguise because I went out and bought the Keurig one cup wonder! LOVE IT!
Pros: Looks Great, Tastes Gret
Cons: Tall travel mug does not fit under the spout
We have had ours for 3 years and it still looks and works great. It has never leaked or malfunctioned. You have to change the filter quarterly and you have to clean it with Vinegar monthly or quarterly depending on how hard your water is. (just cycle through 1/4 strength vinegar and then rinse. Several friends have purchased one after using our and they are satisfied too!
Pros: Convenient
Cons: Leaks
I've had this coffee maker for over a year. I bought it because I don't drink a lot of coffee at home and the design was convenient. But I've had the same problem as others... it leaks water from, well... somewhere. I have to make sure I put a towel down and then wipe underneath it when it's done brewing.
Pros: It's great when it's alive
Cons: They just up and die on you
We bought one about 2 years ago and right around a year old it just died, no light not drip no nothing just a totally dead coffe maker.
I went right out and bought the same coffee maker because we loved it and just figured it was a fluke. I didn't save any of the paper work form the first one so didnt even contact Cuisinart about it.
Well almost exactly a year later...the second one has now died exactly like the first one!! I threw it in the trash and went and bought a Hamilton Beach... sorry but I need my coffe maker to be reliable.
Pros: Great coffee, no carafe to mess with
Cons: uhm, none
Makes great coffee and don't have a carafe to mess with, easy to clean and empty and very nice on the counter.
Pros: good
Cons: good
i had this machine for 4 yers and working fine i love this machine
Pros: no carafe to break
Cons: .............can't think of any
I have owned this coffeemaker for 3 years. I bought it because there were 5 coffee drinkers in the house and making 3 pots a day was just too much. It makes a generous amount of coffee and it never tastes burnt. Now that I am the only coffee drinker left (kids moved on) I make a pot and it lasts 3 days. The coffee is just as good microwaved day 2 and 3. I have never had a leak or malfunction.
Pros: Quick & Consistent Brew
Cons: Hot coffee cools down quickly
Dependable, quick and consistant brew for 1year.. Heating element burns out, breaks down after that. I'd say it's my water but I know others who've reported the same type of life expectantcy. Additionally, although it's capable of brewing 12 cups quickly and I can pull a quick cup while it's brewing the rest, the non insulated inner container just can't hold a good hot pot of coffee for longer than an hour, ie , lot's of wasted coffee. Good product but I'm searching for an alternative.
Pros: Love the no carafe
Cons: 12 months maximum life span
I've purchased 3 Cuisinarts DCC-2000 in the past three years. All have started leaking and the wiring has shorted out right at twelve months. I've given up and purchased a Krups.
Pros: Machine Life span is 1-2 years
Cons: Its Great Machine
I bought 2 of these machine because they both broke with 1-2years. It will shut-off and not start......the filters is hard to find. The machine dies and doesnt turn on after a year...or two...Poor Machine...
Pros: LOOKS GREAT
Cons: LEAKS
Like so many others, I'm on my second one. The first one leaked like a sieve, and now, a year into my second one, it's just started leaking, too. The leaking has nothing to do with the trays or how fast or slow you pour. This unit leaks because over time it builds an oily coffee residue inside the reservoir -- very difficult to clean -- and the openings become clogged. I would not buy this coffee maker again. I would not even spend the $10 shipping fee Cuisinart charges to replace it again. Good coffee, bad design.
Pros: Good tasting coffee when working
Cons: leaking, doesn't turn on consistantly, timer works, then doesn't, can't fit a travel mug under it
Dedicated coffee drinkers will be disapointed because no matter how good the coffee tastes, if its not ready or won't brew when you need it, what good is it? I have my old coffee maker on "stand by" at all times since purchasing this one. Mother and uncle have the same brand/model (we all bought them at the same time because we liked the one cup feature), and they have the same problems I do. Tried cleaning it with vinager, not filling it with a 12 cup pot (just in case the water was overflowing), unplugged multiple times and re-plugged in to "reset"...etc..
.
Don't have receipt anymore since it is now over 1 year old. Don't expect the manufacturer to stand by it, I'm on this website looking for a new machine to buy.
Pros: Style/Convenience
Cons: Water overflow/Grind Overflow
If you like a strong cup of coffee- you may want to steer clear of this product- if you put too much coffee grounds in the holder they overflow into the coffee chamber- and it is extremely hard to clean. Had a bit of problem with leaking lately- ours is about 1.5 years old. For what we paid for it- I would expect it too be a little bit more reliable. Creates a great cup of coffee if made properly.
Pros: makes hot coffee/no glass to break
Cons: water leaks from somewhere
I have had this coffee maker for about 2 years and love the coffee it makes and the fact that there is nothing glass to break and try to replace. It does leak water from somewhere, but has never leaked coffee which was what my last one did. The spout is also to short to put some larger cups and travel mugs under so you have to be creative. Other than all that it does make good coffee.
Pros: No traditional Carafe; doesn't burn coffee
Cons: electric control quit working after a year and one half
I like this coffee maker very much. After reading other reviews I would remind them that this machine has 3 year warranty and even though mine broke after a year and one half the Cuisinart replaced it 100%. They were a little slow in responding to my inquiry but did send a new coffee maker to me.
Pros: no carafe, brew from 4 up to 12 cups
Cons: too many places to leak from
No carafe to clean or break, programming is a cinch, has it's own water filter, brews only 4 cups or as many as 12, auto shut-off, and auto-brew feature.
if Cuisinart would relocate the badly placed vents, it would be perfect. The replacement filter isn't easy to find, nor is it cheap, but it's worth it.
Pros: No carafe, great looking, warming feature
Cons: None!
We purchased this after our grind n' brew proved to take too long to make coffee in. This has been much easier and is especially great because the coffee stays fresher and warmer without a carafe. It looks great, does not spill, and you can use a tall mug or travel mug by removing the bottom tray! Perfect coffee maker!
Pros: Good looking and space saver
Cons: Electrical problems
This applience is very practical in the kitchen counter but it has an electrical problem that makes the product very unpredictable; it has a mind of it's own and it works when it wants.
