Great Countertop Skillet

Can't believe the one-star ratings on this site...just had to chime in. This is a super work-horse in the kitchen. Cooks it up and keeps it warm 'til the family is finally ready to eat! Even great for pancakes. Worth every penny, Actually, there is one Con...it is a big oblong shape...tough to find a good storage spot in some kitchens. But, you'll love it so much you will find a spot!

I bought this pan because of the reputation of the manufacturer and what a mistake. It has a "domed" cooking surface which causes everything to run to the edge where there is no heat. Although it is supposed to be completely immersible, I started hearing crackling noises and when I investigated, I found the moisture had destroyed the integrity of the pan on the underside around the heating coils. I would never buy another item this way, I will read reviews from others from now on.

Cons: Uneven heat
This was a disappointing product from Cuisinart's usual top quality, especially for the price. The base is uneven and allows the cooking oil to pool around the edges, leaving none in the center areas. The temperature seems to cycle hot and cold. Most things I've tried to cook, cook way too fast for the temperature indicated on the plug. But the most difficult thing is the lid. It does not fit tight. Oils and moistures collect on the lid and spit out the edges, all over the counter top, making a huge mess. This is not the product you want in your kitchen. Keep looking.

Pros: Good size, easy to clean
Cons: Easily scratched
I ordered on through a gift catalog. The first one I received was already scratched on the inside of the non-stick pan and the electric plug was discolored (looked like electrical burn). I returned it, and had them send another. The second one had the EXACT same problems. I'm wondering if they just re-packaged and returned it to me. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
