Pros: battery life, quality of screen, everything except the cons!
Cons: this product scratches easily and is not very compact
I bought this products a little over a year ago. I have had really no problems. My only complaint is that it is not very compact (which I kind of like I loose things easily) and scratches and chips easily. But it still works like new. So overall not so bad. I bought mine for $150 which was a bargain for how it works! I don't know what I am going to do when this one breaks! That will be a terrible day.
Pros: Cool Features, Stylish, Great Clarity
Cons: DOES NOT WORK WELL!
I purchased a Creative Zen: Vision M not too long ago. I was really excited to purchase this product and I had a great time with it at first.
Here are some problems, however, that developed quickly:
*The battery often gets so depleted (from regular use) that it will not even recognize a charge for some time. Once it does, it takes forever to to actually fully charge!
I wanted to take my Zen abroad, but it simply wouldn't charge or even turn on, so I couldn't. ;-(
*When I purchased this product, the only charger that came with was a USB cord to connect to the computer. Well, that's great if I have my laptop, but terrible if I want to use it to travel. Why not provide a regular wall-charger from the start?
*Customer support is AWFUL!!!!!!!!!
If you have questions about your product's disfunction, you can try to send them an email, but good luck... And phone conversations? Don't even try. Even if you are able to find a number, be prepared to pay if you are out of your pitifully small warranty. THat's right, you have to pay just to speak to someone. You also have to pay for shipping should you need any work done, pay for the labor, etc. Now, can you imagine if Apple pulled that kind of stunt? No, you can't because it is bad business policy to frustrate your clients.
*Music Compatibility is less than stellar... If you have any music on iTunes, for example, you can't directly transfer. You have to use music companies that you may not find the most efficient.
*The songs themselves became jumbled. The player would not match up songs to their title and would do other strange things.
*Start up menu would freeze up often. I had to reset my player pretty often, which I found strange.
It is a nice looking player and I really wanted to stay away from the "iPod" craze. The photos and video had great clarity, were very detailed, and the sound quality was great (when it worked). I just felt there were too many problems. I would rather not, but I think my next purchase will be an iPod. Sorry Creative. Perhaps your other products work well, but your MP3 players do not. I will not recommend this product to my friends.
Pros: Easy to use, beautiful graphic screen.
Cons: Finicky, freezes up, minimal help for problems
Within the past 1 1/2 years 3 different family members have purchased the Creative Zen 30gig within several months of one another. We loved the big screen, ease of use, and the sound. After 6 months to 1 year of use, we have all had major problems with the device freezing up, wiping out all our music and pictures. They have been returned for service under warranty and came back with the same problems. Trying to get help online is laughable. I would highly suggest buying another brand or model.
Pros: Great
Cons: Great
i think it is better than IPOD 30 GIGA , its resolution is great , and its sound is great , the main problem is its size and that no one sell its accessories.
but it is great YOU HAVE TO TRY IT
Pros: Excellent Sound Quality, Gorgeous Display, Easy to Use
Cons: Scratches Easily, Hard to Find Accessories for 60 GB Player
I admit that I have never used an IPod, but I tend to resist jumping on the "bandwagon," when it comes to trends. It seemed that everyone was buying the IPod just because everyone ELSE had one. However, my partner wanted an MP3 player for his birthday, and specified that he did NOT want an IPod because of his understanding that users were limited to ITunes for music downloads. Whether or not this is true, I shopped around, read a LOT of reviews, and finally settled on this player. When it came, even though I had bought it as a gift for him, I could not stop playing with it. I was simply fascinated by it. I could tell at once that the video display was better than any IPod I had ever seen, and when I listened to the music through even the included headsets, I was DAZZLED by depth, quality and nuance of the audio playback. Of course, I ended up ordering one for myself too. At first, I did find the touch pad too sensitive, but after using it for a while, this issue sort of just "went away." I don't know if it became less sensitive, or I just became more accustomed to using it. The voice recorder is of very good quality, and I often use it to record and play back rehearsals of a small singing group to which I belong. The programmable shortcut button is a great idea. I use this most of the time to toggle "record," off and on, but you can program and re-program it as often as you like, depending on what you want it to do at the time. As for ease of use and installation, I never even glanced at the directions, and I still have not installed the included software on MY computer (I use Media Player because that is what I was accustomed to using with my Pocket PC, although my partner likes the Creative software because it offers more options.) I have ripped all my CDs to this player, and have downloaded video from a variety of sources, and so far I have not experienced any problems with playback. I didn't think I would even watch videos on this (or any other player, for that matter) because I thought the 2.5 inch screen would be too small to enjoy them, but the vivid screen conquers that issue too. It really helps pass the time on the subway to work! If the IPod IS ACTUALLY a better player than this, it must be incredible, because this thing is great in every way that I value in a player - EXCELLENT sound quality, GORGEOUS display, GREAT file compatibility, and VERY easy to use. One thing that I haven't seen anyone else mention is that the Creative software permits users to burn songs from CDs DIRECTLY onto the player, without having to first rip them to the computer's hard drive, saving a huge amount of disc space. I don't know for certain, but I have been told that the IPod does not allow this. In the end, I think picture and sound quality are the two most important items for me, and from what I hear, the Creative Zen Vision M has the IPod beaten on both counts. Also, many reviews have mentioned that the size is bigger than the IPod. Having never used an IPod, I can't really compare them, but I do not find this player to be excessively large at all. (It became considerably larger when I placed it in the leather protector I bought for it, but even then the size did not seem overwhelming.) As for the newest IPod (the one with the touch screen), I have never liked the idea of having to touch the screen all the time. I am already paranoid enough about scratches and dents. And it seems that I would be constantly wiping it off! I have seen people using them on the train, and they appear very FRAGILE.
Pros: Awsome Everything!
Cons: Software conversion kinda slow.But......
With all the video formats that it can play, down load a video/audio converter if need too!I don't have to say much more with all the other reviews! When I see People with an Ipod (I Probably Over Did it)!I wonder how much you spend on music or movies! And if you can fig out how to bypass Itunes(I'm Tired Useing Nasty Enforced Software)!,How Much did it cost for the software? Well,It's your choice! Work hard or plug and play!
Pros: many vid/music formats supported, subscription capable, excellent sound quality
Cons: no supplied ac wall charger, see below for more
i've had the zen vision:m for going on to two years. i've given it a high rating only because of what it can do when at its best. i'm now on my third player because the first two had connectivity issues, all of a sudden wasn't recognizable by my computer, froze all the time, went completely dead, or didn't properly sync playlists/albums. luckily for me i bought compUSA's extended replacement warranty so i haven't had to spend any extra $$. but for all that trouble, i decided to stick with the zvm because i think it has the best value when compared to other players, namely the ipod video. my only con right now is that the album art doesn't work.
the pros have been mentioned by other reviewers. creative products are known for their sound quality, the zvm is no exception. coupled with a pair of high quality earphones, it cranks out awesome highs and lows. menus, backgrounds, etc., are very customizable. syncing is seamless and instant. others have complained about how scratch-prone the face is, it's really not that bad...just get a skin if it bothers you. for all the cons and trouble i had with the first 2 players, it's still worth the investment. i don't now if it's being sold anymore...since the creative zen replaced it...but if you're able to find one, all the more power to ya.
