Pros: Manageble, easy to use, easy song adding, battery life and its size.

Cons: Need to buy a separate charger to charge outside the computer since it does it through the USB cable (Included)

Pros: Good sound quality; good size, physical and digital for the price, great battery life with a caveat

Cons: PC program interface is a little slow, soundboard can become loose, battery can drain if firmware not updated

I've had this MP3 player for a little over a year and I'm very pleased with it. The earbuds that come with the player do not do the overall sound quality justice and even a simple upgrade to a Sony brand earbud makes a world of diffe...rence. The interface is extremely intuitive for me and the PC interface program is better than the eariler Zens. The disk size is perfect for me as I only rip CDs I own or get free (legally) from various websites. I love that you can charge the player with a generic USB cable. There are only two issues people should be aware of for this product. First is the soundboard. After daily use I've noticed the soundboard begins to be loose and the connection made by the jack can be poor and requires some fiddling so that all the sound channels come through. Better connectors, like gold-plated ones, help alleviate this problem. Apparently there are help sites that will show how to fix this internally if you are so inclined. The second is the battery life. Initially the battery life is second to none, playing for a full 18 hours straight on a full charge, possibly more. After upgrading the firmware however, the auto-shutoff/standby time for the player increased to nearly 8 hours, all the while draining the battery. So if I simply paused the player instead of shutting it off for the day, I would come back with the battery dead. Even after another firmware update, I would have to pop the battery out to reset the standby mode. This simple fix is not a big deal and the overall quality of the player makes up for it. Hopefully this will be fixed in the future. I recommend this and other Zen players over the iPods anyday. Read more Less
