reason to get a zen micro

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 30, 2004 | 93 out of 101 found this Creative Zen Micro 5GB Black review helpful

Pros: overall better than a ipod mini

    Cons: no games

Everything is better with an zen micro. If you compare it with an ipod mini,it has more memory, around the same size, looks better,is compatable with almost everything accesory an ipod mini is compatable with, has a built in FM radio, built in voice re...corder, but the best of all is that the price is cheaper. In order for the ipod mini to have a voice recorder or a FM radio, you would have to buy it seperrately which overall cost more than 50 dollars. Read more Less

    Zen Micro

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 9, 2005 | 21 out of 22 found this Creative Zen Micro 5GB Black review helpful

Pros: Easy to use and load-- great sound quality and storage

    Cons: no games---- big deal

Just got it and I love it. Dollar for dollar it is the best on the market. Easy to use and fun. It will take alittle time to learn all the controls but when you do the world will open up for you. Lots of colors to chose from and memory amounts (3gb-4...gb-5gb). Chances are if this is the unit you choose you will not be disipointed. Read more Less

    coolest mp3 player yet!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jul 14, 2005 | 16 out of 16 found this Creative Zen Micro 5GB Black review helpful

Pros: lots of features and still pretty cheap

    Cons: no games

I got a Zen Micro for my birthday and this thing is amazing! It's so tiny. Length by width, it's smaller than iPod mini. Thickness, it's a tiny bit bigger than iPod mini. The price was $200 and it beats the iPod (and iPod mini), which is ...usually way more expensive. More than enough storage (it stores 5GB). I tested the FM tuner and you can have 32 presets! Not to mention that you could record radio. It also has a Date & Time feature which has a built in alarm clock. It has a microphone for recording, and a calendar with to-do lists. With many more features. Of course that's all added to the mp3 player. I'd recommend the iPod if you're a go-with-the-flow type of person; but if you really want what's better, the Zen Micro is best choice. Read more Less

Pros: small, huge memory, stylish, ergonomically fit, and alot more!

Cons: a little little it pricey like the i pod

This thing is so awesome. It has so much memory space! and not to mention the fact that it works as a calendar to do list and an organizer. Its cheaper than the i pod yet has a longer battery life and has more memeory. When i showed it to my friends ...they were all like what is that piece of junk and i said this piece of junk is smaller than your i pod holds more memory than your i pod its battery lasts longer than your i pod and it does ALOT more things than your i pod. What is so great about an I pod

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 28, 2005 | 7 out of 7 found this Creative Zen Micro 5GB Black review helpful

Pros: REMOVABLE LITHIUM ION BATTERY BABY!!!!!!!!!

Cons: just wish the screen had color

I love this thing, if that battery ever goes out you can buy a new one for 40 dollars, where an ipod you have to send it in and pay like 100 dollars, but as far as just having a fun time and listening to music, IT GETS THE JOB DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Another Great Product from Creative

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 1, 2005 | 7 out of 7 found this Creative Zen Micro 5GB Black review helpful

Pros: Compact, Attention-grabbing Blue Backlit Light, Doubles as Storage Device

Cons: No Color Display, Sensitive Touch Panel

I received my Zen Micro for X-mas. It's a great device, because it is one of the few MP3 players that allow you to store data files (i.e. Excel, Word, PPT). However, the device can only be partitioned up to 2 GB for data files. The ripping softwa...re is easy to use and manage music files. You can copy just about any music format, and the device is also compatible with Napster. The touch panel is sensitive, so it takes some practice to traverse the menu display. Read more Less

    Pros: More compatable with PC

Cons: Not as good for running

Man do I love my Creative Zen. I was a little skeptical when purchasing, but after 9 months of use have been pleasantly surprised. It is great for college. I can walk around campass listening to music and then go to the computer lab and use it as a f...lash drive (that I can decided how big or small I want). I have also had fun with the microphone setting. Another feature I really enjoy is the contacts feature where I can look up all of my friend's phone numbers and addresses. I have limited contact with the ipod mini, which my friend has, so comparing is a little difficult. I know that the my zen was about 30 dollars cheaper and has 1 more gig. It's a little thicker, but a little shorter. There is no noticeable weight difference. It seems to be a little bit more sturdy. I just keep it in my back pack which gets thrown around and have not had any troubles. My friend barely uses his Ipod mini and he's already had to send it back twice. ipod seems to have a lot better customer service though. The biggest advantage that my zen micro has over my friends ipod mini is that it is completely compatable with a pc. I can just use windows media player to download songs, and also I can download songs from my zen to the computer which is really nice, and which I guess you can do with an ipod, but you have to buy some software. Another really nice thing about the zen is that it comes with a cord that lets you charge it from an outlet. You can charge it from the computer as well, but it's nice to be able to plug it in the wall sometimes, which you can't do with the ipod mini. The battery seems to last a long time. I've had it for this long and it's charge still lasts for about 8-10 hours depending on how much you are playing with it. The one dissadvantage I would say, is that instead of an arm band it comes with a belt clip. Mine broke and so now I can't really use it for running or anything unless I have pockets. Overall I am very satisfied. I would definitely recommend it over an ipod mini, if they even sell them anymore. I can't compare it to a nano, because I don't know anybody that has one, but I'm sure it's still overall better. Read more Less

best product I've bought in a long time

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Feb 22, 2005 | 5 out of 5 found this Creative Zen Micro 5GB Black review helpful

    Pros: really easy to use

Cons: touch pad a little too sensitive

This product is great. I fell it is a much better buy for your money than an Ipod mini. It has basically the same features, is compatible with more types of music files; that means I have more choices of websites to get music from, not just I-tunes. ...It has 1GB more of storage and is about $25-$50 cheaper than the Ipod mini. Creative Labs is also the #1 company in digital sound technology today - so nobody knows sound & music better. I also like that it has a removeable battery(much cheaper to replace if it dies). Better then Ipod

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 25, 2005 | 4 out of 6 found this Creative Zen Micro 5GB Black review helpful

Pros: Can Easily Replace the Battery

    Cons: putting music on it.

I had an Ipod Nano for 1 month. It would scratch easily and the battery died after about 5 hours. It was the worst mp3 player I ever had. Then I desided to go with a different type of mp3 player. The Creative Zen 5GB mp3 player. It looks weird at fir...st but does a great job. IM am A million times happier with this product. The Nano is a GREAT design but scratches very very easily and who wants to send their ipod to california to get the battery changed in a year or 2. I know I can already buy extra batterys for my Creative Zen. Read more Less
