Another vinyl-only collection, this one a ten-incher with only ten songs, covering Emerson's 1955-57 stay at Chicago's Vee-Jay label. Emerson bonded well with Vee-Jay's house bands, especially on the romping "Every Woman I Know (Crazy 'Bout Automobiles)" and a sophisticated "Don't Start Me to Lying." As with his Sun Stuff, the big-voiced Emerson was a captivating performer.
