Pros: power for a low price
Cons: can't lock controls
When my old rider finally pooped out I went looking for a new one. lawn tractors are too bulky. riding lawn mowers are few and far between, the new Toro is too big. and the cost!!! This Craftsman is not a top of the line mower. It's built to do a job at a cost you can afford. No electric start is perfect..lighter and no battery to buy every 3-4 years. B&S power plant is awesome. The mulch or chute and the water connect for deck washing are real great additions. Stay on top of maintenance - grease the fittings - check for tightness - don't hit rocks or tree branches/roots , wear heavy gloves (to hold the control levers and to protect your hands around trees/bushes) If you find yourself in a pickle...just let go..blade and drive stop and engine stays running, brake locks. The zero-turn lets you spin on a dime. The belts are under the cover on the TOP of the deck, a pleasure compared to my old '90 Toro. No drive chain to rust and break. This is a winner and is often on sale..that's when to buy. It fits in the back of my Subaru Legacy wagon with the handle folded down. You won't be disappointed if you keep your expectations in line with the price.
