A Review for Cowboys from hell

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 7, 2001 | 1 out of 1 found this Cowboys from Hell review helpful

This is a great album, It is the first album with lead singer Phillip Anselmo. Cementary Gates is a master piece the solo and rifts in this song are killer. Domination is a song to remember and they play it at every concert. Cowboys from hell is one ...to remember and sticks with you. Primal Concrete Sledge is a song to turn up as load as you can. I think you get the meaning of the rest of the album. A load, pissed, heavy metal. Read more Less

Say it when you play it

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 7, 2001 | 1 out of 1 found this Cowboys from Hell review helpful

I got this cd from a defunct radio station in 1990. What few people know about is the extremely rare vinyl of thier first unknown album (probably just called Pantera) which has a completely different sound. Anyhow, Cowboys from hell put Pantera on to...p with a unique sound, and Phil Anselmo force feeds the lyrics with dynamic range. "Cemetary gates" and "The sleep" are slow and mandatory. "Domination" is a headbanger's favorite with repetition. "The art of shredding" is the last, but not at least last if you fire it up again, and play it again, man. Keep on rollin Pantera, jack. Music:

Pantera as we know it starts HERE.

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Sep 18, 2006

    Pros: EVERYTHING!

Cons: Tone is thin in comparison to future albums.

What can I say? This is the album that put Pantera on the map. Pretty much everything about it is flawless, the lyrics are tough as hell, the drums are pounding, the bass is earth shattering and Dimes guitars are razor blade sharp, the riffs are heav...y and the solos are about as mind bending as you can get without LSD. Essential metal. Read more Less

I dont give to many Albums 5 stars. Actually this is the first. This album, I dont know what to say its amazing. You know how you listen to an album you love you get weird feelings like the hair on your head standing up and goosebumps. This album is ...a classic guitar riffs are superior, matched with god like vocals. Read more Less

    GOOD, BUT NOT PERFECT

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 23, 2002

This is a great album. But only the first 7 songs are cool. The other ones arent that great (except Medicine Man, and The Sleep. Theyre also cool) Cemetary Gates is an awesome song.

    Gets Better After Repeated Listens

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jul 2, 2002

I must say, when I first listened to this album, I didn't think much of it. But after repeated listens, this is an incredible cd. Domination, Cowboys From Hell, Shattered, Cemetary Gates, and..... ALL OF THEM.

    Pantera's first good album

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 13, 2002

I've seen what Pantera looked like during the eighties and they look pretty gay. Cowboys From Hell was an awesome album. To the other guys who wrote reviews previous to mine Pantera didn't change metal music. It seems some of you haven't heard of a b...and called SLAYER. Pantera is a good band but don't forget to mention Slayer if you're gonna talk about metal cause they rock. Read more Less

The first metal album of the 90's to bring freshness in old school metal.

    Best Album (except Power Metal)

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 30, 2001

Ya I love this Album but what I don't understand is why they tried to hide the first two albums Projects in the Jungle and Power Metal. They are more like a really good Def Lepard on Pro. in the Jun. but Power Metal has some of the best songs they've... ever done. Power Metal is more like Cowboys from Hell. if you like the sound Pantera had on this album then you have to scape around for Power Metal. sorry i didn't say very much about this album but I just wanted people not to forget the records that started it.
