Pros: Well worth top price for the nearly 15 year old album

    Cons: none

From the title track which opens this power packed albumto the last note on the final song this is one of the few albums that I own that I can honestly say I do not forward through. Tradional to heart-wrentching ballads to hard drivin' country wi...th a southern rock twist Tritt delivers on every single song. This first effort is (dare I say) a perfect album. It shows all of his strenghts with a style that is reminiscent of Waylon Jennings. Nashville needed to have its world rocked and there's no denying that double "T" stepped up to the plate and knocked it out of the park. Read more Less

Pro Reviews: Country Club

  • All Music Guide

Tritt proclaimed his influences early with "Put Some Drive in Your Country," which paid homage not only to Roy Acuff and George Jones but to Hank Williams, Jr. and Duane Allman as well. It was the lowest-charting single off Tritt's debut, but it sold him a ton of albums. Radio programmers preferred the ambitious "I'm Gonna Be Somebody" and the ballads "Help Me Hold On" and "Drift off to Dream."

Travis Tritt

Travis Tritt was one of the leading new country singers of the early '90s, holding his own against Garth Brooks, Clint Black, and Alan Jackson. He was the only one not to wear a hat and the only one to dip into bluesy Southern rock. Consequently, he developed a gutsy, outlaw image that distinguished him from the pack. Throughout the early '90s, he had a string of platin... Read more
