In a deceptively breezy, almost conversational prose style, Colton, who weaves his story into that of Sharon's, covers, in some very exciting writing, the team's rise and fall as it makes it all the way to the state championship.
Each reader will have to decide whether or not Colton's treatment of Sharon LaForge is fair or specious or a bit of both. As a nonfiction "novel" with literary qualities, however, COUNTING COUP is a slam dunk.
