Pros: The Best Online Game Ever, Made better by Xbox Live
Cons: Going to be wierd playing CS with joysticks, lack of great maps
Hacking
Lag
Those two cons to the PC Counter-Strike are completely removed by the Xbox version, which is great if your like me, and remember the good ol days when hacking was minimal at its worst, and even when hacking started to catch on, the days of punkbuster wasnt too bad either. But now it's gone to far. The Xbox version will have absolutly no hacks, and no lag because everyone will have broadband.
People have said that 'you cant play cs without a keyboard and a mouse' to me, but i disagree. Counter-Strike will be using Halo controls, controls that I love, and I think that it will work just as well - maybe better - than the keyboard and mouse.
Another fault is that although maps can and will be downloadable via xbox live, the lesser known or less-realistical maps (which are sometimes among the best maps), probably wont be made available. That means classics like the de_rats series and awp_map or cs_bloodstrike will say bye bye while a (in my opinion) crap map like inferno gets ported over. Yes, you know what that means, one of the most popular and greatest maps known in any game, fy_iceworld, is gone as far as I can see.
Also, fan favorites like de_prodigy, de_dust2, de_cobble, and surprisingly enough, cs_militia ! havent been mentioned for being ported over. I can understand bloodstrke, but the lack of militia doesnt make sense. Hell I guess I can add cs_747 to that list as well, but since it wasnt all that popular on the pc version, and it has an obvious bad PR effect but I still liked it.
So pretty much, Counter-Strike will be an amazing game, but since there are only 20 known maps currently, and many of the old classics are gone, one can wonder if the new original ones suck, how long can we just play dust and italy?
... who am i kidding... a very long time... ...
