    Pros: A master piece

Cons: I wish more bands rocked like this

The album is great. The song S.Dest,Sweating Bullits, & Foreclosure is one of my favorites. The whole album thumps like a baptist preacher behind a podium. Get the cd if you love music!

This is megadeths best album by far. From the beginning Skin o my teeth all the way to ashes in your mouth this album does not have one mediocre track. i consider my self a tough metal critic and i just have to say this is one of the greatest metal a...lbums ever.the best tracks are the title track and high speed dirt, and Psychotron. Pro Reviews: Countdown to Extinction

  • All Music Guide

Megadeth guns for arena thrash success and gets it on Countdown to Extinction. Following the lead of 1991's Metallica, Megadeth trades in their lengthy, progressive compositions for streamlined, tightly written and played songs more conducive to radio and MTV airplay. Cries of "sellout" seem pointless when the results are artistically (as well as commercially) successful; songs like the megahit "Symphony of Destruction," "Skin O' My Teeth," "Foreclosure of a Dream," and "Sweating Bullets" are among the band's best.
