Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
This record is one of the most ultimate party albums of the century! Lots of dancible cuts like "Cosmic Thing", "Love Shack", "Junebug", and "Channel Z". This record was their comeback album, released in 1989, yet it still sounds good today. Put it on, turn it up, and PARTY!
First let me say I am 21,an emotional person, and like songs that make me feel,I was about 9 when this came out,now I am a flannel wearing grunge man, headbanging to bands like Pearl Jam,Soundgarden, alice in chains, but when I hear Cindy's singing "roam if you want to..." in the chorus of Roam,I am 9 again,so full of hope as I struggled ,thru a very turbulent time in my life, incredibly vulnerable yet stubbornly percevering thru abuse, and this just brings all that again,to the point where I am crying as I listen to this beautiful song and remember that special time in my life when i was so young,so full of hope and just wanted to live with the one person who actually loved me,but everytime, there was some reason(exscuse) why I couldn't.I was devastated and will never be the same.It will always have a special place in my heart, because it represents a time in my life when I could dare to hope, even as I was being treated like crap that we would be together, that's what gave me strength, but it was all for naught, and that person never even fought to keep me ,what the fuck was wrong with me?and I will never be the same. It's just beautiful and so moving,For me,it may age,but it will never get old.
Why did they make my life so bad?Fuck them. This is what I'm reduced to,sobbing on a review.Sorry folks.Don't lie to your kids,or abandon them or make important promises you won't keep.Cause you'll just make them feel like shit and all the new things you buy them when you occasionally see them and then send them back into hell won't change that.I don't know if I can let this go.Some wounds are mortal. When the one you love the most fails you, there's nothing more dissapointing, and nothing, can take it away. How can you let go when you were barely holding on?If God is a sadist,he must be laughing his ass off.Shit,I'll do anything for a laugh.
Peace,
Elijah
This is their best record with some classic tunes on it. Channel Z is probably my favorite song by them. Topaz, Roam, Bushfire are great. The sound on this record is slightly different from that of Bouncing off the Satelites (a classic b52 record), but still b52ish. Good Stuff is basically a continuation of Cosmic Thing: same sound, same style, but not as good somehow, Cindy took a break from the band by this time. Still some great tunes on that one too....
