Atlanta comedy-rockers the Coolies were led by vocalist Clay Harper and guitarist Rob Gal. Their 1986 debut album, dig..?, consisted entirely of Simon Garfunkel covers, plus a goofball rendition of Paul Anka's "(You're) Having My Baby." the Coolies drew from a much wider range of comic inspiration with 1988's Doug, a satirical rock opera with a warped storyline and musical parodies of a number of different bands.
