    Fresh notes for fresh Blokes

    By Jennifer  Jun 26, 2007

Pros: Crisp fresh music to dance to.

Cons: Just seemed to not have enough music on it. Always more.

I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of this cd. John Mayer did a wonderful job combining a fresh sound with an older flavor. I think this album is an excellent cd to travel with on the road as well start up in your living room and breakout wi...th a few dances with your honey. All in all, it is really great to find quality albums still being made. In his line notes, he also encourages other musicians to jump into the music; adding more musicians to the business. This demonstrates his love of music and how others need to reach their dreams just like he has. Read more Less

    The title fits the subject.

    By Jean A  May 1, 2007

Pros: Easy to relate to Lyrics and moods in the music.

Cons: The situations in the lyrics are disfunctional.

I really felt closer to who John really is in this album. He is a very talented musician and writer in this album, and I enjoyed the cover of "Bold as Love" as well. The songs were instantly stuck in my head after listening to it for the fi...rst time. Read more Less

Pros: Same John Mayer, soulful lyrics and glistening guitar playing

    Cons: None

John mayers third album, " Continuum " is a little different from the last two. Steering away from the poppy-acoustic genres he dives in to the blues and rock. From the Hendrix cover, " Bold as Love " to Stop This Train this has g...ot to be Mayer's greatest yet with meaningful lyrics and songs about the fear of parents dying, political dissent, and our generations abundant apathy, i think that you will love this CD. I also recommend the album, " Try! " from the John Mayer Trio. Read more Less

    Continuum For Success

By Eric Halcon  Dec 31, 2006

Pros: Versatile Songwriter and Performer at His Peak

    Cons: Dull Packaging

Forget the dull packaging. After all, the adage, don't judge a book by its cover, erm, an album by its cover rather, holds true for John Mayer. Having reaped success with the hit singles "Your Body Is A Wonderland" and "Daughters&q...uot;, Mayer returns in top form with "Continuum", his latest studio effort. Not to be missed in this record is the Grammy-nominated and philosophically naive "Waiting For The World To Change". Other commendable tracks are "Gravity", "Vultures" and "Stop This Train". Anyone in his/her 20s or 30s will be bound to appreciate this record as Mayer reflects on love, parents, and the anything under the sun, in general. After listening to this CD, you can attest that Mayer has his continuum for success going good for him. Read more Less

Pros: Great musical relaxing musical experience

Cons: none 3 more songs maybe John Mayer is Great

If you've never heard of John Mayer, and you like that bluesy, jazzy, light rcok element. Then you should check this CD out, being a John Mayer fan since "Room for Squares", and no "Your Body is Wonderland" wasn't my favor...ite song, and i played the "Heavier Things" CD every day for 6 months straight and "Daughters" was one of my favorite songs til the radio got a hold of It. The Trio "Try" I skiped out on cause i was on some i'm not buy cds right now trip, but i did see the Concert. Then I heard his first single from Continuum- "Waiting On The World To Change" while not the best song on this Cd it was a little political a little different from what i heard from him before so i was excited to see what else he was gonna do on this Cd. What hooked me was an listen on the internet before it hits the shelf type thing, and the song " I Don't Trust Myself (With Loving You)" from the first drum and guitar licks you bobbin your head, and if your like me and lyrics are really Important it is a complete song not hook heavy. I found myself relating to what he was saying. That song made me wanna buy the Cd, While song like "Vultures", "Belief", and "Stop This Train" (a song about not wanting to grow old but know that you have to) keeps this Cd in my Cd and Mp3 Player, "Dreaming with a broken heart" and "Gravity" are also mentionable. One song that was interesting to me is "Heart of Life" I think it will be in a commercial. Its one of those feel good songs. I only skip 1 song everytime but I won't taint your head with it, you listen for yourself and pick your favorite, but over all its a good relaxing Cd, and John Mayer has done it again Read more Less

    Can't Stop Listening To It

    By Meg  Oct 12, 2006

    Pros: soulful lyrics

Cons: gone is the teeny boppy sound

For his third studio effort, John Mayer delivers the blues wrapped up in sugary sweetness. Even when he sings about Dreaming With A Broken Heart, the melody just gets you and you hope you *are* dreaming with a broken heart. He also provides a voice f...or the generation with his first single Waiting on the World to Change and pens a wise statement about war in Belief. My favorite tracks from the album are Stop This Train, Slow Dancing in a Burning Room, I'm Gonna Find Another You, and Vultures (which never fails to keep me groovin' to its tune). I've listened to it about 50 times (and counting!) and almost memorized all the lyrics. It never gets boring. A classic. Definitely recommended. Read more Less
