It speaks more to the individual who is dealing with coming out issues. Marlo plays the wounded but supportive mother, while Martin is the hot tempered unaccepting father. The sex scene in the van is very well written and executed, young kids wouldn't pick up on it. If the movie were filmed today, it simply would not be done, given the political and entertainment climate. ...

   i saw this movie in tv the other day...i enjoyed the movie very much because for me...the movie was very honest in expressing the lesson...i recommend it to everyone...watch this movie...
