Pros: already 2 hit songs and the CD isn't out yet???

Cons: none so far...I'll see when I get the album

If the rest of the CD is anything like the songs "Burn" and "Yeah", then this is going to be a really good album. Usher already has the talent for making really good dance songs and this isn't any different from previous albu...ms. Don't know too much about the other tracks, but it's definitely worth taking a look at. Read more Less

Pros: Its absolutely astonishing! from start to finish

Cons: There is none!!! He put it down and came correct!!!!

Ursher,Ursher,Ursher!!! Well, where do i begin? Ok all I can say is that if you've heard "Yeah" and "Burn" then u r in for a real treat. Usher's latest album, "Confessions" is a CERTIFIED BANGER for all listeners.... I mean if you thought he gave u his best music already...then think again!!! This Album is the one! I have no doubt that this cd will be his biggest and greatest chart-topper yet. Who would have thought that being broke up with TLC's Chili would give him so much determination and drive to put 2gether a mesmerizing, compelling, sexy, classic album that will nonetheless separate him from the Jaheim's, Brian McKnight's and newcomers like Justin Timberlake's and Avant's. He is in his own league now. He's put the Gritty, self exploration and soul back into R&B music. I don't even have to tell u about every track on the cd cause u can just play it from beginning to end cause it just flows like a breath of fresh air. He really outdone himself with this latest cd which has so much emotion and intrigue. Look out 2004 and 2005 cause Usher is going to be all over the place! So go out and buy the album already. It has Multi Platinum potential and Grammy Awards written all over it...4 sho! Read more Less

Pro Reviews: Confessions

  • All Music Guide

Confessions' most detracting factor is its length. At an hour in duration, it could be stripped of five songs and be far more powerful, especially since no one would have to do any wading to get to the meaty parts. On the other side of the coin, the smartest move Usher makes here is in allowing the Lil Jonproduced "Yeah" to take its rightful place as the only club track; any attempt at doing something stylistically similar would've failed miserably in its presence. "Yeah"'s crunkmeetsRB foundation, featuring an instantly addictive eightnote keyboard vamp and one of Usher's most muscular turns, is so absorbing that Ludacris' 1500th guest verse floats by with little notice. The following "Throwback," produced by Just Blaze, sounds like it was made for the sole purpose of trailing Alicia Keys' "You Don't Know My Name." Like that hit, "Throwback"'s sensitively treated soul sample provides a nostalgic tint that complements the wistful, regretfilled tone of the lyrics. A small batch of Jam ...Lewis productions, including the effortlessly gliding "Truth Hurts," continue to help raise Usher's loverman stock. Another pair the upbeat "Caught Up" and the aptly titled "Burn" also rate as some of the vocalist's best moments yet. He's been doing this for ten years now. Numerous chart hits have spun off each of his albums. Needless to say, the time is right for the phrase "just another" to be banned from use when discussing him. - Andy Kellman, All Music Guide Read more Less

Biography

Usher

After being spotted by a La Face record executive at a talent show in his hometown of Atlanta, GA, it took no time for hip-hop crooner Usher Raymond's career to take off. The 14-year-old auditioned for La Face Records co-founder L.A. Reid, who signed the gospel choir boy to a recording contract. Raymond was introduced to the world simply as "Usher," and released his deb... Read more
