    Easily one of the most underrated movies of all time, Conan the Barbarian is a fantasy painting come to life demonstrating some of the most wonderful cinematography of '80s coupled to a highly-intense highly-emotional soundtrack. The film has some fo...rgivable flaws such as the special effects, which, although good for their time, have not aged well. Fans chuckle through these scenes. And, in my opinion, Sandahl Bergman's acting is a little over the top (although this is debatable as many fans think she did a great job). Elsewise, a near-pefect film. THIS is a "guy's movie" if there every was one. Buy it tonight! Read more Less

    It has everything you want in a movie, great action, a love story, wonderful music, and a fabulous story. Plus Arnold at his best!! I actually feel a part of this movie and I suggest that anyone go out and buy it or rent it often!! Cuz I have.

    Conan the Barbarian is a sprawling violent movie which is much better than it's reputation suggests. Arnold Schwarzenegger in his first major role is perfect as the hero who solves every problem placed in his path with extreme violence. The sets and... costumes set a standard never again matched in this particular genre, and James Earl Jones is marvellous as the brooding villain. However it's ex-dancer Sandahl Bergman who impresses, especially in the numerous swordfighting scenes. Regretfully she didn't follow Arnold onto the 'A' list. Read more Less

    This movie is packed with all the bloody ,goary, head chopped off action you would expect from medieval times. I can only tell you to go and see it for yourself. It will blow you away. Arnold is at his best in this.

    This is a classic movie. It combines a great soundtrack, imagery, action, and yes, even acting to transport you away from this time and place and into Conan’s. Arnold does what is needed of him in capturing a simple warrior, with only vengeance on ...his mind. James Earl Jones and the rest of the cast also adequately play their roles. The fight scenes are well done and very realistic. This is just a great movie.--Mike Read more Less
