CA BrightStor ARCserve Backup Client Agent for Windows Software

The BrightStor ARCserve Backup Universal Client Agent improves data transfer and provides network security, job monitoring, realtime directory browsing and cross-platform backup support. Installed on a network client machine, the Universal Client Agent retrieves and sends data to and from a workstation to the BrightStor ARCserve Backup server. It contains separate internal client engines that help reduce resource-intensive processes for the BrightStor ARCserve Backup host, serving as a "go-between" that allows BrightStor ARCserve Backup to efficiently back up machines running various operating systems.

With the Client Agent properly installed and configured, a system administrator can use BrightStor ARCserve Backup's backup program to effectively retrieve data from remote clients. It browses targeted directories in real time and packages data to be transported across the wire in pulses of large data packets. The BrightStor ARCserve Backup host server then prepares the data to be stored on the designated storage devices. These simultaneous processes between the client machine and the host backup system translate to a more efficient backup.
