    great stuff

Pros: remastered collection of the bands best

Cons: repeats many tracks from the bands Records compilation

What can you say about Foreigner that hasn't already been said? Lou Gramm has one of the finest voices in rock music history. The band bridged the gap between commercial and hard rock and shined doing it. How many of these tunes are rock radio st...aples? Nuff said! Read more Less

    Awesome!!!!

    By Pete  Oct 24, 2004

Pros: Great tunes spanning Foreigner's career

Cons: Too many repeats from other compilations

If you don't have any of Foreigner's CDs, this may just be the ticket for you. The only other con is that Foreigner's CDs right up to Agent Provocateur are excellent albums and you'll never hear some great songs that will never make a...ny compilation. My recommendation; buy any of the first 5 CDs, they're that good! Pro Reviews: Complete Greatest Hits

  • All Music Guide

Like any other entry in Rhino's Complete Greatest Hits series, Foreigner's Complete Greatest Hits does contain all the group's charting hits, from "Feels Like the First Time" to "Say You Will." This makes it more comprehensive than almost any of the other Foreigner compilations -- yes, the double-disc Jukebox Heroes has more material, yet this is concise in its completeness. This doesn't capture their peak as well as Records, but it does cover more ground, which means it has "I Want to Know What Love Is" and "Say You Will," among other late-'80s hits. Yes, it doesn't have "Midnight Blue," unlike Jukebox Heroes, but that is, after all, a Lou Gramm solo hit. If you're looking for all of the hits by Foreigner proper, this is indeed the way to go, since it has all of them on one disc, with nice sound and packaging -- just like the Complete Greatest Hits series promises.

Biography

Foreigner

While quite a few arena rock acts of the '70s found the transformation into the '80s quite difficult, several acts continued to flourish and enjoyed some of their biggest commercial success: Journey, Styx, REO Speedwagon, and especially Foreigner. Foreigner's leader from the beginning has been British guitarist Mick Jones, who first broke into the music biz as a "hired ... Read more
