Smart battery technology provides more accurate battery life and a charge indicator on the battery for instant charge status when the battery is out of the computer. Smart batteries have charge indicators that inform you how much battery charge is left in the battery. The Smart battery that comes with the Presario 1200 or 1600 Series portable computer has the charge indicator on the battery itself that will show how much battery charge is left, in increments of 25%. This technology also will display charge status on the Presario 1600 LCD display and the Window task bar in increments of 10%.
