    Pros: Music, Lyics

    Cons: only 10 songs

This is a little diffrent from the usual Skillet, but it is better. Its a bit heavyer then the last CD,and they rock thoughtout the entire CD. If you have never bought a Skillet CD, then this is the one to start with.

Skillet's album Collide rocks!!!!!!!!!! When You start the CD with Forsaken, and then head right into Savior, it takes you song after song, lively, and full of spirit for the christian rock, metal fan.

  • All Music Guide

John L. Cooper has finally hit his stride with Skillet. Collide is a disc that chugs along with guitars out front, screaming vocals, and a raw intensity that strips the band of its electronic nuances. Opting for a much more aggressive sound, the band leans on guitar riffs while synths are more tastefully added. Songs like "Forsaken" and "Savior" are perfect examples of unadulterated rock bliss. Even when the band veers away from the heaviness à la the wellplaced orchestration on "Collide," the meat of the tune still ends up rocking out. With this disc, Skillet takes a firm stance toward honing a sound that is marketed to Generation X. With cuts to back it, they may have found the right vehicle to reach those ears.

Biography

Skillet

Alternative CCM rockers Skillet formed in Memphis, Tennessee around the nucleus of lead singer and bassist John Cooper, guitarist Ken Steorts and drummer Trey McClurkin. Debuting in 1996 with a self-titled LP, the trio returned two years later with Hey You, I Love Your Soul. Invincible followed in early 2000. - Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide Read more
