Pro Reviews: Cold Krush Cuts/Back in the Base

  • All Music Guide

DJ Krush's fulllength works have always featured a predominance of midtempo hiphop, and his contribution to Cold Krush Cuts, the doubledisc Ninja Tunes mix compilation (one disc of Krush, one of Coldcut) is no different. Utilizing Ninja Tune artists (DJ Vadim makes eight appearances), the material is of a piece. Aside from the chosen records, Krush's mixing skills are OK but overshadowed by Coldcut DJ Food on the other disc.
