Pros: Engaging plot, convincing, deep
Cons: The unique language in the book can be difficult for some to pick up
"A Clockwork Orange" is one of the few books I have read that has been able to convey a convincing, timeless image of what the future could be. The use of "nadsat speak" as the possible evolution of teen slang is one of many effective techniques author Anthony Burgess uses to draw the reader into his world. He is also able to generate empathy for the main character--who by all standards the definition of evil. Through his engaging story the reader is brought to question the morality of forcing individuals to do what is right against their will.
An enjoyable read with a deep message, "A Clockwork Orange" gets my vote. ...
