Pros: A worthy sequel
Cons: Continuity is a bear
For Clerks / Kevin Smith fans Clearks II is well worth watching. The typical over the top language and topics are all you would expect from Smith. The story makes it a true sequel not just a new story with the Clerks name.
Note on the "cons": as any NJ resident can will tell you, and I am one, the continuity between the New Jersey shot scenes and the California scenes is a bit distracting.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoClerks II
Pros: Original cast and director.
Cons: Wow....where to begin. More insulting than funny.
Clerks 2 was just not funny. I like that they had the original actors from the first movie. But the script needed to be better. I didn't laugh much at all which is bad considering it was a comedy. Maybe I am just tired of these slacker movies (shit I am slacker) but couldn't relate to these characters. And Jay and Silent Bob didn't do anything to help the movie. The DVD does have a second disc (full of what I didn't even venture to see) but for those who love the movie I am sure that was a plus. I just don't have much good to say about it. Jersey Girl had heart and this didn't.
